Historic location

The central Kamppi district of Helsinki plays an important role in the history of Finland’s independence. This was the main seat of the Finnish press industry, and in 1817 the Finnish Literary Society moved into the building that would later become Hotel St. George. It is here that the pro-independence Suometar newspaper was later distributed. Today, the area full of modern businesses, with a variety of shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as parks and cultural attractions. Those of you arriving by car can park in the Erottaja Q-Park garage at Yrjönkatu 8-10.
