Clarion Collection® Hotel Havnekontoret

Beautiful historic hotel in a great location. Right next to Bryggen. Our room had a harbor view with an extended window seat. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Check in with Robin at the front desk was so good. He had a wealth of knowledge and was very personable. You can actually get three included meals per day. Breakfast, afternoon snack and evening meal. The food was enough to keep you going all day. Definitely a perk. There is a small bar for evening drinks and a lovely lobby to sit and relax. We really enjoyed our stay here.

This was a very pleasant and comfortable stay for us. We stayed for 2 days at the end of October, and the weather was horrible, but we paid a small upgrade fee to have a larger room with a very luxurious bath and very nice rituals products plus a better view and very comfortable beds. We saw both the comfortable room and the upgraded room, as Nd both were perfectly nice, but happy with the choice to upgrade. We enjoyed all of the food on offer, breakfast, “fika” pancakes in the afternoon and the evening meals provided- it’s very very good value for money in Norway as eating out is quite expensive. The hotel is modern, well kept and warm; trendy and comfortable. The spa/fitness area is comfortable although the steam room was not operable. The staff are very kind, friendly and welcoming and ever so helpful. Our train was cancelled from Bergen to Oslo and the front desk staff helped us arrange alternative transport. Since I started at a clarion collection hotel in Oslo, (gablehaus) I can compare a few things. In Oslo, we were upgraded I believe for free, the robes were not to rent, they were just in the room to use. Also, the breakfast was very good at this hotel, but the gablehaus one was offering a larger selection. Same with dinner selections; more options available at the gablehaus. The coffee and tea in reception is the same and so nice, however this hotel did not offer coffee pod machine in rooms like the gablehaus did. The tea selection on offer was slightly smaller as well. Overall though, this is an excellent hotel and the heated bathroom floors are a fabulous addition too. Thank you for a fabulous stay, we will return again!

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location with extremely helpful staff and great amenities. Great location for us as we liked to get up early and go for hike up Mount Floyen. Breakfast starts at 6.30 which is better for us and makes a change from other hotels we have stayed at in Europe or US where breakfast starts later. The breakfast had lots of choice, dinner not so much; however, the dinner is a ‘light evening meal’ so we were not expecting the amount they had. Between 3pm-5pm you can have a free snack and tea/ coffee. All of the staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We also took a trip up to the hidden tower and used the sauna. Unfortunately, the steam room was out of use but these things happen and the sauna area was lovely. After a few very wet and cold days the fire in reception was welcome (alongside the free tea and coffee). We also stayed in the bar one evening as it was so wet and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The only minor thing I would say is that the room didn’t have much space to unpack which meant getting my suitcase out everyday. Next time I will book a slightly bigger room and there will definitely be a next time!!

This hotel is wonderful in terms of location, customer service and breakfast buffet. The rooms are comfortable and perfectly clean with wonderful toiletries. The personnel are efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend it and stay there again if I ever go back to beautiful Bergen. Thank you for making our stay a great experience!

This hotel has good location. In the center of old Bergen. Very close to the Fish Market, Funicular line. In proximity to the hotel one can find many restaurants with local and European food. Hotel lobby is silent. We got some negative impressions upon our arrival. Our luggage was delivered to the hotel one day before our arrival. We expected that we will find our suitcases in our room. But our luggadge was at the storage room. The receptionist told us with displeasure that the company that delivered our luggage had not ordered its delivery to the room. The entrance to the restaurant was closed with tape for most of the day, so we could not go in for tea or coffee at any time. This option is advertised. I can give only lower than average scores to the services, but good for the hotel location.
