Clarion Hotel Bergen

A real gem of a find. The Clarion is a comfortable hotel, ideally located to explore the city on foot. We arrived early and asked to leave our cases until check in time, but our room was ready, so we checked in right away. The room was a little small and not much of a view, but we could not fault it otherwise. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was free coffee, tea or hot chocolate available through the day. The real star of the Clarion is the breakfast. Smoked salmon, Gravadlax , a selection of meats and cheeses and freshly baked bread - wonderful. There was also bacon and egg. The Clarion does not have a restaurant, but there are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity. Overall, a wonderful stay and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a vacation in Bergen.

Great location! We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and had a minimalist, clean design—plus, no carpets! The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from the train station and main attractions. Rooms are quiet. Hotel also offers a gym and sauna. The hotel also has an amazing breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at Clarion Hotel Bergen recently, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. My AirPods Max headphones were stolen directly from my suitcase in my room. Despite immediately reporting this to the hotel, the item has not been recovered. While the 'Find My' app consistently shows that the headphones are still within the hotel premises, repeated searches by hotel staff have yielded no results. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that there are no security cameras or in-room safes at this hotel, which raises serious concerns about guest safety and property security. Although I provided evidence through the app and even shared a purchase receipt, I have not received any satisfactory resolution or compensation for this significant loss. The lack of effective security measures, as well as accountability at this hotel, is deeply disappointing. I expected a much higher standard of service and responsibility, especially given the value of the items involved. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone concerned about the safety of their belongings.

Awful. Hotel directly opposite a night club which is open till 3am over the weekend. People screaming and shouting in the street,banging music. Mention to young girl on reception just smirked and deflected by asking did we enjoy breakfast. Picture when researching this hotel is nothing like The bedside table could hardly fit your phone and a book on. Furniture really old. My daughter had a family room terrible problems with lights as mentioned in a previous review. I would not recommend this hotel

The website makes this hotel look good but it’s not. As a family we experienced the following during a 2 night stay. Lights not working in room / to not working in room. Poor staff experience on front desk. Young lady was quite rude and abrasive when we asked about our sofa bed absence. Also the bar is awful and never open. I was informed it was open the weekends when I tried to get a drink in a Sunday afternoon! The hotel is also opposite a nightclub so expect loud people in the street until the early hours. Wouldn’t return to this hotel
