Clarion Collection Hotel Grand Bodø is located in central Bodø near the Glasshuset shopping street, numerous cafés and restaurants, and the harbour. Bodø's main tourist attractions, including the Luftfartsmuseet (Aviation Museum) and Galleri Bodøgaard, are also within easy reach of the hotel.

Beautiful architecture

The hotel provides a colourful and modern place to stay with lovely historic details including classic interior design and distinctive post-war architecture. The well-known author Knut Hamsun is just one of the many famous people who stayed here and he wrote Segelfoss By (Segelfoss Town) in one of the rooms.

Rich history

Clarion Collection Hotel Grand Bodø has a long and dramatic history, stretching all the way back to 1850. On 27 May 1940, Bodø suffered extensive bombing raids and Anna Hoseth was alone in the hotel at the time. After seeking shelter in the basement, she was rescued at the last minute by a soldier. He came back to visit the hotel many times after the war had ended. A mirror that was one of the few things to have survived the bombing still hangs in the dining room today.
