Comfort Hotel® Grand Central

Stayed 1 night with my wife and 9 year old boy I had booked the suite and got the "King's Room" The room was huge. But as it was very big it was very strange as the furniture did not "fill up the room" and so there was a lot of empty space. The bath tub was facing the main street window and void of curtains. So technically if you were bathing, someone outside might be able to see you if you stood up. The decor was eclectic but my boy really liked it. And there was no coffee/tea in the room. If you wanted that you needed to go to the reception. Location of the hotel is amazing, just right next to the train station. You can get there within 10 mins of walking. If asked whether i would stay here again i might but possibly not the suite. We have had a stay of 5 nights at this fantastic hotel and would like to recomment it to everyone who is looking for a fantastic hotel in the Center of Oslo. It connects directly to the central station where you will arrive when you take the train from the airport to the Center. You do not even need to step outside just cross the Ostbanehallen and you will arrive at the hotel. The service is amazing and all people are super kind and always willing to help and think with you with good food suggestions, tour suggestions ore with any question you have. The rooms are fantastic and the breakfast tastfull and freshly made. In the evening you can just sit in the lobby to drink something. The next time when we will come back we will stay at this amazing hotel again. Thank you very much staff for making our stay complete fantastic!

Close to commuter Oslo S. From here you are at the doorstep of Oslo and the near by area. Kind staff, no fuss without detracting from the expiriensce.

Excellent location, right in the centre and near transport options to everywhere. Rooms were a little basic (and no safe at all) but adequate. Not much storage but bathroom was big. Breakfast was excellent, lots of options and unlimited. Even good for vegans!! Staff were very helpful and friendly and upgraded us when we had an issue with the lights in the bedroom - couldn't fault them at all. All in all a great stay, thank you Comfort Grand.

Good central location and the hotel connects to the main train station and an area of restaurants. Very good price for an expensive city. Old rooms with high ceilings as it’s an old building with an interesting history. For those who have never used a 'barception' before, it may be a nice idea, which no doubt cuts down on staff and costs - but when I arrive to check in, tired from a flight and airports and buses/taxis, I want to check in quickly (it was quick but had there been people at the bar too, as happened at another Comfort hotel, you can end up waiting) I found out after there was self-service check in but I needed to ask some things of a staff member. I would rather pay a bit more to get a better service. I chose the hotel based on location, not on saving a few kroner or dollars, rather than for one person having to do all the work of running the bar and the reception on her own. Staff should double check the cleaning in rooms before making them ready. I found a part eaten chocolate or fruit bar on the desk. Room carpets and corridor carpets looking a bit worn. The idea of making the rooms on an old fashioned theme doesn't really work. For example the desk had a metal top with rivets around the edge and down the middle. but that meant a laptop couldn’t easily be placed flat onto it.
