The popular Midtåsen sculpture pavilion and park are also just five minutes’ drive away. The entire hotel is rather like a living museum, with information telling the history and importance of whaling in this coastal town. The hotel provides plenty of areas to sit and relax, while you relish the stylish and elegant furnishings with interior design from the early 1990s. The hotel offers breakfast, afternoon fika and dinner every day as part of your room rate, and there is a lovely lobby bar serving refreshing drinks and tasty snacks. So, you’re sure to feel right at home here! The area around Home Hotel Atlantic has a long and exciting history. The first whaling expeditions to the Atlantic Ocean set off from Sandefjord in 1905, about ten years before the Hotel Atlantic was built. Even though whaling declined in the 1960s, this historic era lives on at the hotel.
