Clarion Hotel® Energy

I’m writing this after a deeply unpleasant and frankly surreal encounter with the hotel’s general manager, Gjermund Dahl. What was supposed to be a simple and calm conversation about a hotel gift card turned into an unprovoked tirade, marked by personal attacks, irrelevant deflections, and an overall tone that was condescending, defensive, and outright disrespectful. I’ve met hundreds, if not thousands, of people through work, studies, and travel. Almost every interaction has been constructive, professional, and respectful. Gjermund was an exception. At 23, I walked away from that table as the calm and composed adult in the room — a role the GM himself clearly failed to take on. Instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility and accusations that I was the problem. Gjermund's tone, attitude, and unwillingness to engage in a civil conversation were flat-out unacceptable. Even my partner, who sat nearby and overheard parts of the conversation, was shocked by how the GM conducted himself. It’s unfortunate to see someone in a leadership role behave this way, but I take comfort in knowing that the industry is evolving, and outdated, abrasive personalities like his are being phased out. I doubt I’m the first to leave a meeting with this GM feeling disrespected, and I certainly won’t be the last.

Great nights sleep, great friendly staff at reception during check in. Room large and clean. Away too early for breakfast but on previous experience it has always been very good.

Rooms are basic and while main bed is comfortable additional beds are couch beds and not as good, breakfast was nice and adequate. Staff were very good and friendly. Adjacent to concert venue which along with conference facilities seems to be majority of guests

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Clarion Hotel, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! From the warm welcome at check-in to the seamless check-out process, every detail of my stay exceeded expectations.

I stayed there for 15 days and was a very funny experience. The location helped me a lot with my business appointments.
