Comfort Hotel® Xpress Tromsø

My wife and I had a short break in Tromso mid November and we where looking for a good value for money hotel - as we were planning on spending all of the time outdoors we wanted our hotel to be practical rather than 5 star luxury. The Comfort hotel express was a nice clean funky hotel. The bar area is actually the reception which they call “Barception” where you can grab a drink or a snack and chill out. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel rooms are small with very little in them but had all that you need in terms of practicality. Shower was good and room was clean and warm. I would stay at this hotel again if all I wanted was a nice place to hang my hat. Tromso is a small town so everything was within a 10 minute walking distance from hotel.

This is a budget hotel with all the necessary features but without luxury. But the room was spotlessly clean and quiet. There was no proper restaurant and the only breakfast on offer was from a dispenser with some snack and packed lunches. But considering the price, this accommodation is great value for money.

For a budget hotel, this property surprised me. Sure, the room was on the smaller end of the scale but the bed was super-comfy. Everything was spotlessly clean, too - and everything felt quite modern! The staff are laid-back and super friendly, and the location can't be beat, being in the very center of town. It did surprise me that I had to pay for clean towels and the room is only cleaned once every three or four days if you stay for longer periods, but all in all, given the price, this place is a winner.

Booked a double room but when we were checking in we were advised that it was made up for 1 person but WE could easily make it up for 2 persons as the bedding was there, not at all what we booked, so off we went to the room it was not small it was TINY, with a single duvet on a small bed we found another single duvet and towels in a drawer under the bed it was an awful nights sleep as we could hardly move as the bed was tight up to a wall with the daylight streaming in as the curtains are to short put towels along the windowsill to try and keep the light out, then we had a boy racer driving up and down the road outside blaring the loudest music, reception should have called the police as the noise was tremendous, we had requested a early wake up call for 03.45 and were advised someone would knock on our door this never happened but luckily we had a back up option in place we faced the whole journey home back to Scotland as 2 very, very tired travellers, not a good experience at all.
