Comfort Hotel® Trondheim

A comfortable and clean room, small but had what I needed. Good location. Good bed and shower. The glass door in the shower didn't close, so kept swinging inwards to the showering area. I wedged a towel against the bottom of it to keep it shut. For those who have never used a 'barception' before, like me, and don't know it's there, there needs to be a big sign on the way in and in the hotel information documents and ads. Otherwise people may walk in, as I did, see a bar and assume I'm in the wrong entrance, and exit only to have to come back in. The sign is around the side. The staff didn't say anything to be on entering, though I had a check in bag on wheels so looked like a hotel guest! Although it's a nice idea, which no doubt cuts down on staff and costs, when I arrive to check in, tired from a flight and airports and buses/taxis, I expect to be seen immediately (or wait in the line for those checking in before me). I don't expect to have to wait while the one staff member doing both bar and reception, serves six people waiting for drinks, while I have to wait. I get the idea of a boutique hotel and that if you have fewer staff, the cost will be cheaper to the customer. But there's a reason hotels have had a separate reception and bat for ever - because it works. Throwing away tradition is not always evolution. And I would rather pay a bit more to get a better service. I chose the hotel based on location, not on saving a few kroner or dollars so that one guy has to do all the work of running the bar and the reception on his own (actually there was a second staff member who made a coffee at the bar for someone, then went and didn't return) As for the name, 'barception', ugh. I wince when I hear it or write it! That seems to be the trend these days, but of course it makes no sense, as there's no such thing as a 'ception'. A return to tradition and what works in hotels would be better for me.

Everything was great! The room was clean, and breakfasts were tasty with a good variety of food and drinks. The hotel staff—receptionists, waiters, and housekeepers—were very friendly. My hotel room did have an unusual bathroom door design—there was literally a big hole in the door instead of handles! 😅

Able to access most places on foot and once again, a fab breakkie buffet, if you are looking for a mid-range hotel that is a great short term stay, look no further! Check in was smooth- rooms were clean and check out was easy! Highly recommend the Trondheim venue as well as the chain through Scandinavia!

Nice place in Trondheim centre. Easy to find and free night parking outside. The breakfast was very good and the room was small but clean. Best of all was that we stayed in the weekend but it was no noise from the people outside. So i recommend this hotel.

A chain hotel located in the very center of Trondheim. Functional, plain and not that busy. Breakfast buffet ok, content wise, but rather unorganised. Minimalistic, but not in a good way. Supplies missing in the room. Coffee and tea facilities for example.
