Hotel history
The Clarion Collection Hotel Uman was the city's medical centre from 1920 onwards. When the building was turned into a hotel in the early 1990s, a new building down by the river was also added. The addition was designed by Sören Burman, who received the Umeåspiran architectural award in 1992 for his work. The city gets its name from the Lappish name for the Ume River, Uman.
