Right by the quayside in central Ålesund, you'll find Arkivet bar, a wonderful bar with a hand-picked selection of the best you can find in wine, beer, Champagne, spirits and cocktails.

The bar for all occasions

Whether you're spending an evening with a group of friends, toasting to your wedding anniversary with your better half or having a work meeting, Arkivet Bar is the venue. The bar's beautifully located right down by the quayside, more specifically inside the popular Hotel Brosundet. In other words, it's the perfect place to pop in after a walk in the centre of Ålesund or a wonderful meal at the Apotekergata No. 5 restaurant located in the same building.

Arkivet Bar is known for its pleasant atmosphere, large selection of beers and cocktails and wide range of wine and Champagne. If you're peckish, you'll find a snack menu at the bar, or you can buy sandwiches and other ready-made lunches from Butikken, right next door. Arkivet Bar takes its name from the local merchant Peder Devold, who had his office at this address in the early 20th century. The premises in which the bar's located were part of his archive, hence the name. Welcome!
