The Story of Club Gustav
You may be wondering why the club is called Gustav? The answer touches on the history of the place as the jazz club is named after Gustav Henriksen, the founder of Amerikalinjen. Gustav faced considerable resistance when founding the shipping line, but he persevered, with the first liner sailing in 1913. Over the following 60 years, thousands of people travelled on the Amerikalinjen between Norway and America, embarking on a new adventure.
