Clarion Collection® Hotel Katajanokka is located in the beautiful and tranquil Katajanokka district within easy reach of central Helsinki. The hotel building dates back to 1837 and served as a county prison until 2002. Its long and fascinating history is reflected in the meeting and event spaces, creating a unique and memorable environment for your event.
We have five red-brick meeting rooms here at the hotel that are ideal for meetings, negotiations, interviews and more. For larger events, such as conferences and celebrations for up to 130 people, the former prison chapel provides an impressive venue. With its six-meter-high ceilings and original church altar, the chapel offers a versatile and experiential space for various events. If needed, the entire hotel can be reserved, allowing you to be the king of the castle for one day.
If you’re curious about the property’s colorful history, you can enhance your meeting with a guided prison tour. The traditional house tour takes you into the depths of the former county prison, sharing stories of the building’s past, its former residents, and key events. Additionally, our partners, Escape Room Running Rabbit and Elevent, offer a variety of activities to complement your meeting day. The prison tour can be booked through our in-house sales (event.cc.katajanokka@strawberry.fi), and partner activities can be arranged directly with Escape Room Running Rabbit and Elevent.
At the end of your meeting day, there’s nothing better than relaxing in the cozy comfort of our hotel’s plush beds. The hotel’s peaceful location, thick brick walls, and high ceilings provide the perfect conditions for a good night’s sleep. If you’d prefer to unwind with colleagues first, Restaurant Linnankellari serves delicious home-style meals during the week and à la carte delights on weekends.

Our five meeting rooms feature charming red brick walls providing inspiring venues for smaller gatherings of up to 30 people. These spaces beautifully combine history with modern comfort, creating the perfect setting for memorable events.
Our largest event space, the Church, is a welcoming venue with six-meter-high ceilings. The historic altar, paintings and organ have set the stage for a variety of celebrations for over 170 years.
