Hotel Admiral

Nice clean well appointed hotel with a position on the waterfront and ~10 mins from the metro from the airport along cobbled streets mainly. Only the rear entrance is open at the moment (Nov 2024) because of major construction at the front, so do not use Google Maps to get there, it takes you to the front which is very confusing with bags at night. Construction does not start until after 7am and then it is not too intrusive, although at 5:36am Monday morning, there were some very loud crashes for a short while. Good for shops (Magazin du Nord, etc) and restaurants, within a 5 - 10 min walk, and metro links to airport and Tivoli. Hop-on-hop off bus goes from close by. BUT, make sure you get allocated the room you book - although the management were very keen to help, it took 4 room changes to get the room stated on my confirmation email that I booked (27m2, twin 120x200 beds), and even then, the beds are simply not available. Single beds in this hotel are only 90cm wide, not the 120 promised. Even double beds are 175x200 not the usual King size of 190x200. The management do know, and I hope they update their descriptions - they will reply, no doubt, as they do to reviews. There is also NO English language TV, only Bloomberg Financial, German and Danish. Again, I was told there have been many requests for this. So easy to provide these days. Baths are too high for people with limited mobility, as mentioned by others. Also the shower is slippery and there is no non-slip mat - we put a towel down, important for older guests with less balance. I would stay here again if in Copenhagen.

Loved this hotel. Visited Copenhagen during the Christmas season was such a nice experience. After being outside in the cold, it was nice walking into the warm and welcoming lobby of the hotel. Nice touches of wood, cozy Danish designs; lots of comfy seats and overall modern feel. We loved the location too. Near a lot of sites. Nice views. Nice and safe area to go for a walk. Near a bus stop. Our room was a double level room. It’s a good use of space having 2 areas with separate TVs. Very clean. I didn’t give this a 5 bubble rating because i prefer a room with a wide open space and not feel like I’m going to bump my head on a wooden beam. I also generally don’t like bathrooms with this layout (see photo) with a deep tub that serves as a shower area. I’m always worried one of us will slip getting in/out of the tub. Bathroom was small.

What a lovely hotel! The Admiral is in such a fantastic location, and the hotel is beautiful. We were given the warmest welcome and since we arrived the staff have gone above and beyond to do everything they can. Very much looking forward to staying again soon.

I always try to stay at the Admiral when in Copenhagen. I have stayed there around 5 times in 8 years. The view and location are excellent. The rooms are interesting. The service has always been strong and in fact seems to have improved over time.

The location of the hotel is remarkable as well as the setup of the rooms with view on the Copenhagen Harbour. The main area is noisy and crowded but the rooms are very comfortable. The hotel is a walking distance from Nyhavn and the city center. Beware of the fact that the parking lot has limited capacity.
