Hotel Admiral

I have been to many hotels around the world, including in Denmark. Admiral hotel is without a doubt the best for experience. Friday I got to experience the new restaurant, renamed from salt to Ayeaye. Classic, calm and nordic style interior. The food was mediterranean menu and felt like I was back in Sicily. Absolutely amazing! Food 5/5 (including drinks) & service 5/5. The room I had was a waterfront, can highly suggest picking a room towards the waters. Woke up early, out on the little French balcony and took in fresh and calm Copenhagen in the morning Comfy king size bed, big bathroom (with speakers) and 1 big chair 5/5 for me, thank you

The stay was extremely comfortable. My son and I loved the location which was close to a lot of tourist spots . We dined often as the food on the restaurant was to die for especially the desserts. The staff were very friendly and considerate. I also left my bags for a days when I went to Oslo and they were really nice.

As always the best hotels have the best staff, and everybody here was happy, smiling and glad to help. We had a free upgrade to a waterside room, which was small, but perfectly comfortable. There were works going on to create a new patio on the town side. The canal water is so clean people swim all year round. The hotel is in a great location, very close to NyHavn for bars and restaurants. I recommend getting to and from the airport by metro: £2.50 fare on line 2 to Kongens Nytorf station, then just a 5 minute walk. We would be happy to return.

I have never written a pre-stay review, but Sophie at the reservations desk deserves a compliment. I truly made mistakes booking our two rooms online and then had to cancel one room for just one of the four nights. To add to the mistake, I emailed a cancellation of the wrong reservation! There is a lot going on in my life right now and these mistakes aren't overly typical for me - multi-tasking gone awry! Fortunately, Sophie caught my error and emailed me to confirm rather than just canceling the wrong reservation. I really appreciate how helpful and patient she was to someone who hadn't even stayed in the hotel yet. This really sets the tone for our stay and it's such remarkable customer service. We arrive on the 27th and look forward to thanking Sophie and the front desk team in person.

While the hotel itself is quite nice I feel that they were not truthful about the conditions while we would be here. What was to be a relaxing first stop on a trip of Scandinavia turned out to be anything but that. We booked a deluxe waterfront room. What the r hotel did not say at the time of booking OR even when we checked in is that there is major construction on the water side of the hotel. We were awakened to loud drilling, hammering, construction workers yelling and all sorts of noise - on a Saturday morning. I mentioned this to the hotel on the chat and did not receive a response. I feel they should have been upfront about this or at least had the courtesy to tell us this when we checked in or given us an option to stay on the other side of the hotel. That said, the front of the hotel also has construction so not sure it would have mattered. Our waterfront view? Well the porthole size window afforded us a great view of the construction site. So disappointed.
