More than a hotel
Clarion Collection Hotel Katajanokka is more than just a hotel and – it’s a lifestyle! Good service and incredible attention to detail come from the heart. Our dedicated staff will happily attend to your specific needs to ensure you have a wonderful stay here at the hotel.
Renovation of a historic building
The oldest part of Clarion Collection Hotel Katajanokka dates back to 1837 and the main building was constructed in 1888. Before finally closing in 2002, the building served as a county jail and remand prison.
Following a complete reconstruction, the hotel opened its doors to the public in 2007. Many parts are listed – the central corridor, the outer brick wall and the high wall that surrounds the park – and they serve as a reminder of the building’s long and interesting history. In 2017, the hotel underwent another renovation to create a modern boutique hotel with stylish décor and exceptional service with a truly unique atmosphere!
Fun & stylish accommodation
Former cells have been transformed into comfortable hotel rooms with functional and elegant interiors. The rooms are specifically designed to provide quiet and relaxing accommodation, and the thick brick walls, high ceilings and triple glazed windows will help ensure you have a great night’s sleep during your stay! You’ll be able to disappear from the hustle and bustle of busy city life here.
Linnankellari Restaurant
All our guests can look forward to a delicious evening meal served in a wonderfully cosy setting at Restaurant Linnankellari as part of an overnight stay. This atmospheric restaurant is located on the lower ground floor of the hotel, exuding the rich history of the building. In addition to this homely evening meal, the restaurant also serves lunch every weekday, and on weekends, guests can choose whatever takes their fancy from the à la carte menu. We welcome hotel guests, locals and visitors to come in and enjoy a bite to eat here at the restaurant. We hope to see you soon!
