Crowded, Overrated, and Underwhelming

The hotel has nice decor, but my stay was neither pleasant nor satisfying. I initially booked a standard room and got an upgrade to a Superior View Double before arrival. According to the description, it should be on the "top floors," but I was given a room on the 7th floor (the hotel has 16 floors). If the middle floors are considered "top," I have nothing more to say. I called the front desk to complain about the floor, and they refunded the upgrade, but my excitement was already gone. I was very disappointed, and the so-called "sea view" wasn’t great either—it faced a port, with nothing interesting to see. The room itself was ordinary, nothing special. It was also quite small, which was disappointing. During check-in, there were three counters, but the line was very long, which tested my patience. The hotel has four elevators, but during breakfast and check-out times, they were extremely crowded. I had to wait a long time and ended up going to the top floor first and staying in the elevator to eventually get down to the ground floor. The line for check-out was even worse, with so many people waiting. The breakfast was average, not tasty, and the dining area was very, very crowded, almost unbearable. I chose this hotel for its unique location, high floors, and good views, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. At this price, you can choose another hotel with more character and avoid wasting your patience and expectations here.

This was a great hotel. Fantastic views over the water, 20 minute walk to the ferry terminal to Tallinn, opposite a tran stop, a sauna and a rooftop pool. What more could anyone want! The breakfast was excellent, with so much choice, including their own honey from hives on the hotel roof. It was clean, warm, welcoming and the cocktail bar on the 16th offered a relaxing spot for a drink. I loved Helsinki and this hotel was brilliant. The sauna was perfect and very hot and a lovely swim in the pool overlooking the city and harbour afterwards was awesome. The tram is opposite, but we walked the 20 minute walk into the shopping district centre. This is great for couples, families or anyone needing a city getaway.

Nothing was good. The sauna was NOT hot. It is not suppose to be called SAUNA but rather STEAM ROOM "höyry sauna. The floor to the outside swimming pool was very very slippery that my son fell down and broke his waste. There was no sign indicating that "beware slippery floor". In the sauna there was NO TOWEL. I saw a room service cleaner at hall way and I told her about it; she came with me to the sauna to verify if is true or not; she saw that there was no TOWEL; she promised to bring TOWELS to the sauna; for one hour she did NOT bring the TOWELS. I telephone room service and also front desk about no towels in the sauna; they also promised to do something about it but DID NOTHING for another 1 hour while I was in the sauna. I met the room cleaner inside the elevator; i asked her why did she promised to bring towels and she did not; she replied that she was the only one working on shift. I booked DELUXE room No value for money. Service at the breakfast was bad. Most of the people working at breakfast did not speak and did not understand Finish Language. I asked "missä on hunaja" she replied that she does not speak finish. A hotel in Helsinki Finland and one cannot get service in ones own language; very shameful. If you are fully booked; then employ more workers to cater for the amount of guests.
