Hotel Fabian

Good hotel for quality standards. Breakfast is also good. Location is perfect for visiting the city center.

Super nice and clean hotel. Conveniently located in central Helsinki, about 20 mins walk from the daily/bus station. Breakfast is good too specially baked omelette! Good restaurants at walking distance. Best malls is Helsinki at walking distance.

We stayed at the hotel with a good location but not great, the rooms are spacious. The bed comfortable and the bathrooms have nice functionality and the midday checkout team is a bonus. Service was good throughout our stay. Breakfast was high quality local cuisine but lacked enough warm options for me to be wow’d by it and the coffee was just ok. All in all there were be very little I remember about this hotel (and yes I am spoilt and well travelled) and for me was just a bit expensive. I also though can find no fault whatsoever so if you want a clean functional hotel as a base whilst you explore you can certainly do a lot worse than the Fabian.

We stayed one night as part of a ten-day Scandinavian trip. The hotel staff were very helpful and the room was gorgeous and roomy; the only minor complaint would be the hairdryer being not as powerful as it could be. The breakfast was truly fantastic. I would return just for the oatmeal. Just some tips: 1. You can walk everywhere, including Esplanadi, the ferry stop to Suomenlinna, and old market hall (Vanha Kauppahali). A walk to the southern tip of Kaivopuisto, a beautiful park south of the hotel is worth your time. 2. Visit the Oodi library north of the train station; Finns love their libraries and it shows.

Located five minutes walk from the main shopping esplanade Hotel Fabian provided us with a good base from which to explore the city. Staff were friendly and courteous and readily on hand to deal with our questions. The standard of cleanliness was extremely high. The reception staff provided us with alcoholic refreshments which we were able to enjoy in the relaxing area just off reception. This was not our first stay and we were pleased to see that nothing had changed that impacted upon our stay. The breakfast provided a range of choices but was a bit of a lottery in terms of how busy it was, albeit the hotel staff did make an effort to stagger times. However, it was apparent that guests took little or no notice of this which led to occasions when things had either run out or needing replenishing. This is no reflection on the staff in the breakfast room who worked conscientiously and diligently to keep everybody happy. It seemed that an extra pair of hands and a better toaster would have helped. We make this as an observation as it will not prevent us from returning.
