Lilla Roberts is a cosy yet elegant hotel that seamlessly combines modern amenities with quirky 1930s Art Deco interiors and other throwbacks to the past. This wonderfully inviting hotel opened in August 2015 and is situated on a quiet side street in Helsinki's historic Design District within easy reach of excellent restaurants, shops and attractions. In premises that used to house an electrical substation and a police station, Lilla Roberts now offers 130 stylish and spacious rooms in five categories, as well as a lovely courtyard and a patio. Combining Nordic and local flavors with a hint of Nordic madness, Bar Lilla e and restaurant Krog Roba are both popular go-to places among locals. The hotel also has two meeting rooms and a well-equipped gym.
Location
Lilla Roberts is located between Helsinki's busiest business district and the most prestigious residential area in the city's ultra-cool Design District. The neighbourhood features many restaurants, bars, shops, sights, museums and art galleries, and you'll also be just a short walk from the Esplanade Park and other attractions.
Design & style
Lilla Roberts' interior is trendy and stylish with lots of Art Deco features. The atmosphere is inviting, warm and cosy, with a twist of elegant luxury. Large windows and high ceilings create a sense of old-world refinement amidst the bustle of a contemporary city. The hotel is built in the premises of a former electrical substation (1909) and a former police station (1974-2012) combining modern facilities with a rich history. The building was created by architect Selim A. Lindqvist in 1909 and the hotel's interior was designed by Jaakko Puro.
Rooms
Lilla Roberts features 130 stylish and spacious rooms in five room categories: Comfort, Style, Lux, Junior Suite and Suite. All the rooms have a unique character with lots of playful and modern details. Connecting rooms are an excellent way of ensuring enough space for families or groups of friends travelling together. Our most spacious room is a stunning 100-square metre suite with a fantastic range of luxury amenities. The suite has two bedrooms, a living room and two bathrooms, and overlooks the Kasarmitori square.
Nordic breakfast
Our breakfast buffet includes a range of Nordic delicacies highlighting organic and homemade produce with a twist. Are you adventurous enough to finish your morning meal with some salted liquorice or a super healthy shot made from wild Finnish berries?
Krog Roba
Krog Roba is a relaxed yet elegant restaurant that offers guests a seasonal menu consisting of modern Nordic flavours, fresh fish and vegan dishes. The restaurant's defining character, with a good dose of Nordic madness, is perhaps seen most clearly visible in the fabulous range of desserts. Prepare for some pretty surprising flavour combinations including buckthorn and salmiakki (Finnish salted liquorice). The atmospheric and captivating Art Deco design creates a lovely atmosphere, and Krog Roba is the perfect place to come for an intimate dinner for two, as well as large groups of diners. Come and enjoy the popular brunch, have lunch or treat yourself to a sumptuous dinner!
Bar Lilla e.
Bar Lilla e. is located in the lobby. The delightful living room atmosphere with a big dose of creativity, makes it an ideal place to come and hang out with friends and family, or just sit back and relax after long day with a drink. The bar is open every evening and we have an all-day menu featuring lots of delicious dishes.

Lilla Roberts supports Finnish design with its fashion partner concept. Various Finnish fashion brands are exhibited in the hotel lobby for two months at a time and hotel guests are eligible for exclusive offers. At the end of the working day, participants can relax at Bar Lilla e. known for its exceptional bartenders. If the weather permits, coffee breaks can be enjoyed in the stylish courtyard of the hotel.
Krog Roba, can also be hired for private functions such as weddings and birthday parties. The space can accommodate up to 100 people.
