Klaus K Hotel

We stayed for 5 nights in a Superior Double room. We had caught the train from the airport and then grabbed a taxi from outside the central station to the hotel. This was only a 5 min journey but the taxi driver ripped us off - happens in every city unfortunately however it leaves a bad impression generally of any stay. We arrived at the hotel just after 12:30pm but check-in was not until 2:00pm, so they registered us and stored our bags. Hotel is in a good location in Helsinki - very central to everything, about a 10 min walk to the main cathedral/square. Room we were in was very large and clean. We had a fridge as well as safe & tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The shower section in the bathroom was open plan which we find looks great but is not really practical....not matter how careful you are you end up with water all over the floor. A few shelves for storage of clothes & a railing for coats but it could have done with more storage for the size of the room. Breakfast was buffet style and had a large selection with gluten free/other dietary choices. Staff at reception were super helpful on various aspects, we purchased transport tickets from them & they provided advice on how to get to various places we wanted to see. We went to a hockey game one evening & they provided advice on what station to alight. Tram station stops right out front of hotel. A tray of chocolates in lobby a nice touch as well as other "travel essentials" you can use.

Couldn't fault this hotel at all...great welcome as soon as we arrived, and we arrived really early, 9.30am...the girl at the desk advised that they didn't have any superior rooms available this early, but for 15eur we could upgrade to a deluxe and get in immediately...we grabbed this....beautiful big room with everything you could possibly need. They also keep supplies in the lobby that you can help yourself to any time. This was all well explained at breakfast. We picked the hotel for the location and I don't think you can do any better in Helsinki. To top it off, the buffet breakfast was probobly the best we've had in 2 weeks of travel through norway and finland. Would stay here again...

A very central hotel within walking distance from main train station and city centre. Room was spacious with a decent size walk in shower. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. Hotel Italian restaurant is also very good - we had the degustation- delicious and very filling! Restaurant staff were lovely as well I fell in love with the colourful bag in the room. Unfortunately these were not for sale - something management may wish to consider - I would love to have that bag!!!

Amazing location. Clean and relaxing. Delicious breakfast!. Shower water flows all over the bathroom floor as there is nothing to contain it.

Very nice hotel in Centre... Receptionist helpful and friendly... Good size room... Nice big..firm bed... Coffee making facilities.. TV and Fridge... 10 minute plod from train Station... Taxi costs seems to be a Fixed 35 Euro from Airport...
