Clarion Hotel® Admiral

Terrible hotel. The room was dark & barely big enough to fit the bed in with little room to keep stuff. We were on the second floor & got no sleep on the Saturday night due to loud music from a party until almost 2am. Why put a couple who were staying for several nights in a room within earshot of such awful noise when party goers were probably away from the racket & only staying one night? Breakfast was varied & plenty of choice but forget the cooked breakfast as it was stone cold! Bergen is known for its downpours & after a day getting drenched we were looking forward to an evening meal in the hotel & couple of drinks in the bar afterwards. Unfortunately the restaurant & bar were both closed after 5:30 on a Sunday. So having kept us awake until gone 2am we couldn’t even get a drink on an early Sunday evening & had to venture out into the rain again to find food. The website says there’s a bar & restaurant but fails to mention this is closed at a weekend??! This hotel needs to cater for its patrons & not just its party goers!! The rooms weren’t particularly service well, just 2 green tea bags & no milk & we noticed the maid had very little to clean the room with. Certainly no sweeping brush as the floor was gritty & awful. Needless to say we won’t be back!

Got to the hotel after disembarking our Hurtigruten cruise, so early and way before check-in. They offered to store our luggage while we went out exploring. Got back to the hotel around 2:00pm, with guests filling the lobby and seating areas. Hotel staff wouldn't let anyone access their rooms early unless they paid a fee even though the rooms were ready. I guess this is a thing now: pay up for early check-in. I *never* expect a hotel to grant me early check-in, but I do ask, and 9 times out of 10, they accommodate the request provided that the room is ready. On the plus side, the Clarion Admiral has a spectacular view from the outdoor bar.

I loved this hotel from the moment I opened the door to my room and realized I had a serene view of the bay with boats passing by and colorful iconic Bergen buildings across the water. The bed turned out to be even more comfy than it looked. Staff were super helpful with recommendations for different activities and wonderful local restaurants. The hotel's extensive breakfast buffet choices were fresh and delicious. Most attractions were within walking distance-- including docks for fjord tours and the tram to the top of the hills. I had a wonderful stay here.

Clarion admiral , staff charming,but for us the booking via hurtigruten was not good. we did not realise more than one hotel with this name once over confusion given a room with two beds overlooking a road(apparently should ask for sea view)our booking was done via Hurtigruten London office (we will be more careful next time) excellent breakfast,bedroom,maid came to clean after 16hrs felt sorry for her,obviously was a problem with the booking with Hurtigruten but we were the ones who had to live it, staff all helpful and good owners should improve it

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The breakfast is full of so many choices! The hotel Is well situated to the town and walking to sights. The service is exceptional-if there is an issue, the staff takes care of it right away. Thanks for a lovely visit!
