Clarion Hotel® Bergen Airport Terminal

I had previously booked one night at this hotel but my cruise arrived a day earlier so I had to book another night. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great hotel with delicious breakfast and the staff is very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to do there. I had already stayed in town for 2 nights before the cruise so I didn’t want to spend 360 Noks going to town and back. There’s no kettle in the standard room but there’s a coffee and hot water machine in the breakfast room where one can go get free coffee or hot water. I chose to upgrade to a superior room for an additional 100 Noks per night. It was bigger and much nicer and has a kettle with tea and coffee. At my age, I don’t have the energy to keep going downstairs whenever I am thirsty. I was very happy with my room. This hotel can be seen from the airport. The bus stops at the airport and one has to walk to the hotel. I was following a couple who took the roundabout way. It wasn’t raining or snowing so it didn’t matter. It wasn’t far but I was tired. On my return to the airport, I found the shorter route through the parking lot. It seemed so much easier. I took 10 minutes but for most of you, you will take 5. There is a short distance where there is no overhead shelter at all. In good weather, everything is fine, but what about bad weather? When the wind is blowing and snowing in 2C? It is, after all, still winter. Might be okay in the other seasons. Next time I will remain in town and take the airport bus in the morning. This way I can walk around town and have all my meals there. It takes 25 minutes. Everything is expensive in Norway.

The hotel have introduced background music in breakfast area. As a guest I must have the opportunity to choose if I will have a quiet start of the day. We are surronded by music and sound continously, so as a guest the breakfast area must provided with a peceful start of the day.

First the bad. The temperature control system was horrible to adjust and make comfortable, the room was very small, food in the restaurant was good but extremely expensive, there is no business center/computer for customers to use. Next the good. The location to the airport is excellent and the property is clean.

Good hotel and exceptional location, good service and cleanliness, Iam very satisfied in general with this hotel.

We had a 6am flight out of Bergen and staying at this hotel made it easy. Five minute walk from hotel to the airport at 3:30 was a breeze. They even had an early breakfast at 3:30am for people with early flights.
