The rooms facing the Glomma River and Finnskogen currently have limited views due to the ongoing renovation of the facade. The renovation work is expected to be finished during the first quarter of 2025, but please note that the completion date may be extended.
A historic setting
The fortress has been completely renovated and is ready to welcome guests for memorable stays and events. This hotel has great historical significance, with the fortress dating back to the 17th century. The fortress played a key role in Norway's political history, its independence and its military defences.
These barracks here date back to 1771, and these former military lodgings have been completely renovated. The result is truly magnificent! The hotel now features 28 rooms iwth a total of 60 beds, each with their own unique charm. Several of the rooms offer panoramic views of the Glomma River and the Finnskogen (Forest of the Finns). The interior design with lovely wallpaper and charming décor creates a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere in these rooms.
