Kommandantboligen
Kommandantboligen, the Commander's Residence, was the first building to be erected here at the fortress in 1683. Gastronomy and history are deeply entrenched in this place, and we are proud to say that royal families, including 13 kings from Harald V to Fredrik II, have been dining here. The artist Erik Werenskjold grew up here at the residence, and there is also a wonderful wine cellar in the basement.
Slaveriet
Slaveriet, the Slave House, features elegant 18th century continental style, and it was built as a residence and officers' mess. It is now a popular venue for parties and all manner of events. It was later called Slaveriet in 1816 when some of the rooms were used to house slaves. When the Germans took control of the fortress during the occupation, the interiors were changed to what they look like today, and now have a historic architectural value.
Vinkjelleren
Vinkjelleren, the Wine Cellar, is located in the basement of Kommantboligen. The cellar originally served as a vaulted ammunitions room and it has now been transformed into a charming wine cellar where guests can enjoy amazing gastronomic experiences.
