Comfort Hotel® Kristiansand

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Very close to trains/buses and the restaurant/bar district. I stayed in a superior double room. Room was of decent size, but very minimalist and not at all cozy or homely. Bed was an issue as the mattress was really hard. The bathroom was nice, but the water pressure in the rain-forest shower was very low, and the soap dispenser should be changed to something more user friendly. Also, I recommend that the hotel changes the soap supplier as the soap was a cheap version which felt sticky to the body. Not very nice. I stayed from Friday to Sunday, and the room was not cleaned during my stay. Breakfast was average. The staff I encountered was really nice and attentive.

I booked 2 nights at this hotel though Hotels.com and arrives at 21 in the evening - the check in went fast and smooth, I paid for 2 nights (full price - no discount or anything else that should have revealed what was coming. But the room I was given was an "extra" room at the hallway, with no window and some REALLY bad air! As I returned to the reception asking for a "real" room - I was at first told they only had this room and as I said that I would like my money back and then head to another hotel, I was told that they had a room - but only for one night. I accepted to take this and asked for money back for the second night. This was not possible and I could discuss this with Hotels.com as the receptionist were referring to "that they had given me the room" although I did not pay over Hotels.com but that the credit card automat at the reception a few minutes before! It was late and I had spent all day traveling and therefore I stayed the one night and elsewhere the day after.....BUT I still have not had my money back and as I was leaving I was told (by the receptionist and a maid) that "they always receives complains about that one room".....

This hotel will not disappoint! The room is comfortable, a decent size, and with a comfy bed. Everything is super clean! The breakfast has a lot of variety, more than a lot of 4*s, and there was plenty of it. The best part of my experience however was the customer service. The fella who checked me in was lovely, and when I left personal belongings in my room and only realised when I was already on my way back to Denmark, Ann Margret was my saviour. She was so friendly and helpful and really put me at ease when I was absolutely panicking. Would 100% stay here again!

The staff really lived up to the notion of the south's friendly positivity. There was communal road work at the hotel during this period, and the reception did their best to shield us as much as possible from this. Both location and breakfast were of a very good class.
