Very kind and friendly staff, we were upgraded free of charge to a new very nice part of the hotel with lovely room. We didn't like room sound isolation because you hear sounds from the hallway slapping the door etc, then curtains weren't able to completely stop sunlight entering the room during night in June so we had some sleeping problems and it was a bit too warm in a room with too thick and warm covers. Otherwise it is great hotel to recommend!

I no longer recall what led me to choose this particular hotel, but I am glad I did. Having underestimated the distance of the airport, Evesnes/ Harstad, to Narvik (58km), and facing a threat of snow, I was a little concerned about my possible hotel choice. My first reassurance was when my daughter told me that the bus actually stopped at the hotel. And then standing there looking at the front I felt better. Entering a conventional lobby we were immediately greeted by a pleaseant young woman, who swiftly and efficiently registered us. She gave us clear directions to our rooms and briefed us on the general facilities available. We unpacked and settled in to pleasant comfortable rooms, then made our way to the restaurant and had enjoyable evening meals. Breakfast, the following morning, was equally good, buffet style but with a good selection of both hot and cold dishes. The hotel is pretty much in the centre of town and we were able to stroll to the nearby attractions with the hotel roviding a useful base. Staff were at all times pleasant, friendly and helpful; everyone seems to speak English to a good level,

The longest renovation project in the world

Looking at previous reviews, it seems this hotel has been undergoing renovation for at least seven years - and is far from finished. Notre Dame and Windsor Castle were restored after catastrophic fires in less time. The reception area is currently a building site, and doesn't look particularly safe. There are renovated or un-refurbished rooms (you pay a premium for the modernised ones) and both are acceptable if basic. Location is convenient for anything in Narvik. Breakfast buffet is very good with a wide choice and excellent quality. All staff are friendly, but not all are particularly useful.

My second stay at this hotel, and I will surely come back! :-) Warm welcome at the front desk, and the room I got was nice and clean. The only negative thing is the wifi! In room nr. 319 I could only stay connected outside the bathroom, so had to use mobile data for the entire trip - not good when on a business trip! The breakfast was ok, but the food at «Rallar’n pub og kro» was 9/10! :-) Fix the wifi, and I will be very pleased at my next stay!

The hotel is large and centrally located. My room was in the older un-refurbished part of the hotel. However it was still mostly fine for my needs. The bathroom was a good size and the beds very comfortable, as well as a good quality TV and Tea/Coffee making facilities. The downsides are the lighting and the complete lack of storage. There is no ceiling light, the only light is from desk top lamps and one floor standing lamp which are quite dim. The other issue was the complete lack of storage in the room. No wardrobe, no drawers (not a single one, anywhere in the room) nothing. The only "storage" is 4 hooks beside the door with coat hangers. Nowhere to put valulables like a passport either or your worn clothes. I hope this will be rectified as part of the refurbishment. The rooms also aren't serviced daily unless you ask, although this isn't a major problem. Also there is some noise from the road if you get a room at the front but worse on one night here there was some sort of event going on in the park opposite with music so loud it was making the windows of the hotel vibrate. I guess not the hotels fault, but the downside of the central location. The bus from the airport stops outside and there is also a shopping centre with a large car park next door too. The breakfast is very good, with a good choice of hot food (fried eggs, bacon etc) and on weekdays starts quite early, at 6:30am. The hotel resturant/pub was also good with a nice cosy atmosphere and decor and the food was good here too. I believe there is also another restuarant on the top floor, but I didn't use that one.
