Welcome to Amerikalinjen, a unique hotel that enjoys a fantastic location right in the most central and vibrant part of Oslo, within easy reach of all the city's main attractions.
It's as true now as it was then – the possibilities begin here!
We are seeking to combine the very best of the old and new Oslo here at Amerikalinjen. The building itself dates back to 1919 and we have carefully integrated modern features to allow the hotel to claim its rightful place in this buzzing capital city. This is a place where dreams take shape. Amerikalinjen welcomes all those who truly relish the joy of travel. We combine American diversity with the Norwegian love for adventure. The hotel features 122 rooms and suites with high ceilings and quality interiors, as well as the Atlas Brasserie & Café, a versatile club house, the Pier 42 cocktail bar and a well-equipped gym.
Gustav
The Gustav club takes its inspiration from the New York jazz scene. The club has its own entrance and is located on Amerikalinjen's lower ground floor. State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems and dining facilities mean that the venue can host many different events for up to 75 people.
Haven
Haven is just that - a haven. This year-round garden is located right in the heart of the hotel. Order something from the Atlas Brasserie & Café, and sit back and relax with a nice drink in your hand. Haven is the place to come when you feel you need to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Greenery, plants and original yellow tiles on the walls create a truly unique atmosphere. This is the ideal venue for those looking for a different setting for a meeting, launch or celebration. Haven can accommodate up to 65 people.
Reawakening history
Walk right into the original building from 1919 that was once used as the headquarters of the Norwegian America Line that shipped thousands of Norwegians across of the Atlantic Ocean in search of a new life.
There are plenty of reminders of bygone days and the name itself is a tribute to the history of the building. A hundred years after the building was completed, we will blow new life into this old shell by creating a new meeting place for those willing to write their own story in this melting pot of people, experiences, art and culture. New opportunities begin right here in central Oslo, right here at Amerikalinjen.
The architectural firm Kritt Arkitekter is responsible for the conversion of these old office buildings into a modern hotel. The interiors have been designed by Helsinki-based Puroplan.
