Rooms are very snug but nice. And the high ceilings and large windows made the room feel much larger. We were fortunate to have a fantastic view over the city as well. We were unfortunate to stay on an upper floor during a heat wave, but the hotel was very accommodating with fans. There is no air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was very nice and included one made-to-order dish. However, we thought the buffet was plenty and did not order from the menu.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights at this lovely hotel in the center of Oslo and had a wonderful time. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is in a perfect location, just steps from the train station, harbor and walkable to all of Oslo. The (included) breakfast in the morning is delicious! It was the best way to begin our day and offered a huge variety of everything you could want to eat. The staff was kind and super helpful with any questions or recommendations we had during our stay. Our room was lovely and so quiet! We stayed on the top, 7th, floor and we felt like we had the "attic" to ourselves the whole time. The bathroom and amenities were great as well, lovely lotions and soaps for us to use. The bed was very comfortable and watching the snow fall from our balcony was a treat. We also enjoyed having drink in the cozy bar after spending a cold day out enjoying Oslo. Highly recommend staying here if you are in this city, it was a treat to come back to every day.

I am giving this hotel top marks – something I am doing it for the very first time. My family and I stayed here during the Christmas week and early January, and they just loved it. Kei and all the front desk staff were just amazing – ever so helpful and polite. Breakfast spread was good. Location too is excellent. The only problem we faced was the room’s central heating wasn’t good enough during this cold winter period, but the team did provide us with a portable heater. If we ever visit Oslo again, this would be our first choice to stay.

We tralveled in family. Deluxe room with extrabed fit for 3. Comfy bed and full amenities. Location is very good even having 5 big luggages and arried by train as Oslo central station. Porter service could sent our luggages to and from Bergen at this hotel. Staffs are very very very nice. Special thanks to Ms Pop, Mr Peter and Ms Kei for warm welcome and help. Yummy breakfast esp. egg benedict. 10/10 The best hotel in Oslo.

Well situated near the Central Train Situation, the Amerikalinjen Hotel is a beautiful, well managed hotel that offers their guests great service in a comfortable environment.
