Lovely historic hotel. Location was perfect - close to tourist sites and right across the street from the train station. The room was quite modern with a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was also very good. Hotel staff was warm and friendly. Even though the hotel was in the middle of the city, it was very quiet inside. Just so happy we stayed here.

I really can't think of anything that could be improved. Very friendly staff, great room, great breakfast and great location.

Excellent location. We stayed here for two nights in early November. The hotel is well positioned for many of Oslo’s key attractions as well as the Train Station which has a fast service to and from the airport. There was an excellent selection of food at breakfast. We loved the cocktails in Pier 42 on the first night but when we went back the second night the bar was too busy and we couldn’t get seated so make sure you make the most of the opportunity! We enjoyed the theatre that went with serving the cocktails and can highly recommend The Gatsby and A-ha. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Oslo

Stayed here en route to Penang, situated centrally very close to the railway station. The hotel is beautiful both inside and out, classically decorated in all the public areas. The rooms are very stylish and comfortable. We visited the bar before dinner in the evening for a glass of wine but there were plenty of cocktails to choose from! We walked from the hotel to eat at Vulcan Fisk around 20 minutes walk but there are plenty of trams throughout the city. I must mention the breakfast which is probably the best I have ever seen in a hotel, so much choice and beautifully presented, even the fussiest eater would be able to find something! The dining area was also a lovely space and the staff were very welcoming. Would 100% recommend and most certainly return for longer next time!

I just celebrated my 50th birthday during a 10-day trip in Norway. My birthday happened to fall on one of the 3 days of my visit to Oslo. I was choosing between this one and Hotel Continental during my booking, and ultimately, I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the train station. I am so glad I chose Amerikalinjen! The hotel exceeded all of my expectations and made my birthday very memorable. Besides the fantastic and unbeatable location (walking distance to Oslo Central Station, and steps away from the main shopping street), I really appreciate the customer service and the amazing breakfast. Peter and Mora at the front desk, Christina at the breakfast front desk, all provided top notch customer service. They really tried to accommodate customers' preferences and requests. One day we couldn't turn on the TV, the front desk quickly sent someone, ( i think his name is sebastian? ) he fixed it quickly and had a great attitude. The breakfast itself was indeed amazing like everyone said. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell it was prepared with care and love. I have traveled all over the world quite a bit and have stayed in all kinds of hotels, but Amerikalinjen really made a great impression. I hope to be back soon!
