Clarion Hotel® The Hub

How bizzare. I was booked at The Hub prior to a cruise up the Norwegian coast w Hurtigruten. The cruise was great. No so the Hub. Limited options for dining, limited menus at those options, and loud, very loud pounding techno music during breakfast and dinner. Note there didn’t seem to be any options for lunch except maybe at the bar if someone would take notice of you. No room charges without considerable hassle; scan your room card to take an elevator from or to any and all floors (but only 1 elevator ever seemed to be working so it stopped at nearly every floor nearly every time); floor plans were a maze of twisting little corridors; you are assigned a time for breakfast and there aren’t any proper tables and chairs, just low sofas and small tables recycled from a cocktail lounge, and more of the loud oh so loud percussive music beating against your eardrums along w the clatter of dishes and people yelling to be heard over it. The apple strudel was excellent— If you could elbow your way through the videographers documenting every dish (had they never seen yogurt or scrambled eggs?) to reach it. The central location is a plus but no excuse for the hotel’s bizarre quirks.

The hotel is very centrally located (near the train station) and very convenient to wander around the city on foot etc. The hotel was modern and very clean with our room being on the 9th floor with a comfy bed and great shower etc (see pics). The breakfast area was massive and plenty of choice to suit all types/tastes but can feel very busy at times depending on when you go. We were definitely full and didn't want much lunch after eating their breakfasts! 😊👍 Views from the roof bar area are impressive at night or in the day. drink prices in the bar area weren't cheap but this is a city centre hotel in Oslo (so expected this!). Can't comment of price of hotel as this was taken as part of a package.

Great hotel with great location. Room spacious and comfortable. Other hotels I have stayed at in Oslo have been smaller in room size.

Our stay at the Clarion Hotel the Hub was extraordinary. Wanting to celebrate my husband's birthday I thought of surprising him by requesting one of the services offered by the hotel and when we arrived in the room we found some "happy birthday" decorations, chocolates and a courtesy set as a gift. In the evening we went to the bar on the first floor to have a drink and here we had a few hitches. We sat at the counter and waited at least 15 minutes before someone deigned to take our order, then we waited another 15 minutes to receive our drink. We ordered a gin and tonic (they didn't ask what type of gin we preferred) and a spritz, unfortunately not the best, probably prepared with old prosecco that had run out of bubbles. for the rest everything of excellent quality, excellent cleanliness, perfect location, good variety of breakfast but the sweet corner was not very well stocked.

Great location if you’re visiting Oslo. Train, tramps, restaurants, shops etc just outside the door. Nice and clean room (#1202) , great bed, quick elevators and nice staff. Breakfast buffet large and rich, only thing missing more selection of cheese and real butter. Great with the barista coffee station. Relax and spa area very small and should be adults only. (+16) Hub bar 1 floor nice and cozy, friendly staff, but a bit pricey. Bottle beer 33cl 199nkr. Norda restaurant 13 floor. Make sure to make reservation if you want to eat there. But I would find somewhere else. The view is great, but I don’t think the food/ service is worthy a 5 ⭐️ hotel- only the price matches. I would come back another time because of the location, but I would not eat in the Norda restaurant again.
