Quality Hotel™ Saga

I stayed at the hotel for two nights. I found the rooms extremely confortables, regarding size and utility. It had an amazing view to Tromso bridge and the cathedral. Besides, the breakfast was excellent. Moreover, the hotel's location is less than 200mts away from the city main street.

Excellent breakfast, but overprices, non-working internet and staff that don't care. The hotel is in an excellent central location overlooking the cathedral, 100 metres from the main street. However, it very expensive at nearly 4000NOK a night, but that does include a very good buffet breakfast, even if it is not served until 8 on Sundays and 7 on Mondays. The main disappointment was that the wifi did not connect in the room. When I went down to reception as soon as I found it, the reply was "oh you're not the first person who has said this", but there was nothing they could do. I just had to suck it up. This is clearly something the hotel has known about for a while, yet has not done anything to address it, but clearly they do not see the need as they can continue to charge so much. The additional problem is that the TV is provided through the wifi, so that did not work either.

Hotel is very well located in the centre of Tromso and a short walk from the harbour, Airport express bus stop and the bars and restaurants. The breakfast offering was extremely comprehensive and of very good quality - very impressive! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel has an excellent taxi booking system at reception. Whilst there was nothing that I didn't really like about the hotel I did find the cost of the rooms very, very expensive, (over £200 per night) especially in comparison to Svalbard and Oslo.

For the price you pay this was really bad. They don’t tell you that they don’t clean the rooms, just a small note in the reception but nowhere in the room. My door had a terrible noice, it sounded like a vacuumcleaner, some kind of problem with the ventilation i guess but still, it was hard to sleep with that noice. Breakfast was ok though and the bed. Very small bathrooms and no conditioner or lotion. Very bad if you have long hair and no conditioner.

Great location in the city center, very clean hotel, delicious and varied breakfasts, nice and helpful service, next to the reception a nice lobby, possibility to leave luggage after check-out. The only problem is the door opening system because the door cards stopped working during the stay.
