For those arriving by train or bus, the central station is just 7 minutes’ walk away from the hotel. Visitors should make sure to explore the magnificent World Heritage Site, the Falun Mine, during their stay. This former copper mine is now an outdoor museum featuring an open pit at Stora Stöten and the Mining Museum. While underground, you can join guided mine tours and wander through the historic shafts and tunnels. You’ll also find the Dalarna Museum near the hotel, showcasing the rich cultural history of Dalarna with Dala horses, Dala paintings and traditional folk costumes. A 14-minute drive just outside Falun is The former home of the artist couple Carl and Karin Larsson, Lilla Hyttnäs, is situated less than 15 minutes’ drive outside Falun in the village of Sundborn. The cottage is beautifully preserved and there are numerous artefacts on display here, allowing you to experience Swedish home décor and family life from bygone days.

The hotel building dates back to the 1930s and is named after the Bergmästaren, the supreme official of the mine, who once resided here.
