Clarion Collection® Hotel Bergmästaren

We stayed two nights and the best part was the meals. It's very convenient that a light dinner (one main, a soup, and salad) is included in the hotel rate. The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable. My old gripe is that the toilet was very uncomfortable. It sat too high. I didn't have this problem with any of the other hotels I stayed at while traveling through Dalarna och other parts of Sweden and Denmark.

After the friendly reception by the receptionist, disappointment followed. Our room 808, booked as superior, was only accessible via a staircase from the previous floor, was very small and had only a tiny, heavily soiled skylight. The furnishing of the room was spartan.

We stayed here three nights with another couple. It's not a five star hotel but it was five stars in terms of service, location and service. Yes I said that twice on purpose. The rooms are small and very basic but the beds are super comfy and the water pressure is great. Not only is there complimentary breakfast but also dinner!!!?? Never have seen that before. The lobby is very sweet and comfortable with a 24 coffee/espresso machine available for use. Air conditioning is not common in sweden so if you run hot this place might not work for you. The street can be noisy if you want to open the windows for air. I think they would benefit greatly from installing ceiling fans. The breakfast and dinner (both buffet) which were included were excellent. We really enjoyed our visit.

Falun is worth a visit any time of the year, and so is Hotel Bergmästaren. The staff's friendlyness and the overall quality of service make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. I'd definitely book this hotel again, should I come to Falun.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 1 night. We chose it as they accepted pets. In our case a dog (Beagle). Check-in was no problem at all. The breakfast was also quite OK What I am not happy with are primarily two things. Partly because I paid SEK 100 for parking at 3 pm in the afternoon. When I parked the car at 9 pm there were no places left. With the exception of some intended for electric cars. I finally found the last box where I managed to park the car. The parking near the hotel was very expensive. The other thing I am unhappy with is the room temperature. It was around 13℃ (55.4℉) outside but inside the room it was 26℃ (78.80℉) But the location is good and close to the city center and maybe a little small room.
