Vox Hotel

Stayed at the VOX Hotel in Jönköping for one night in October and had a very good time. The hotel is located in the east part "Östra Centrum" of the City Center on a small side street from the "Östra Storgatan" Main Street of Jönköping. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the Central Train and Coach Station and there are many restaurants and shops located in the area. The majority of hotels in the central parts of Jönköping seems to be located in the western part of the City Center "Västra Centrum" where the Scandic, Elite and Quality hotel is located, right as You step out of the train station, but really Jönköping City Center is quite small to be frank and very walkable and You'll easily walk here to the VOX Hotel from the Central Train Station in approximately 10-15 minutes, alternatively You can also take the city bus a couple of stops, as there is a city bus stop very nearby the hotel too. I arrived a little bit earlier than the check in time which is 15:00, but I was given a complimentary early check in from the very attentive, polite and professional receptionist, which was very nice. I had deliberately chosen the cheapest economy /budget room which is located in the cellar and without any windows, and also from the looks of the pictures from the booking site that I made the reservation on, I didn't have very high expectations, but I have to say that I was very happily surprised and this hotel actually turned out to be really good. As previously mentioned, both of the receptionists at the check in were both very friendly and both of them assisted me at the same time, which I found very exclusive and very good experience that is unusual to come across these days, then I was also given a complimentary early check in, and as I was a member of the Strawberry hotels programme, I was also given a 20 % discount coupon valid for food and drinks in the hotel's bar and restaurant. The hotel does not look much for the world on the outside, but as soon as you step inside, it's actually really stylish and very, very modern. There is definitely a thought behind the design and there is a cool and slick theme with nice colour in both purple, pinkish plush garments in the corridors and dark green plush garments in the hotel room and with light and dark combination details and spotlights and velour garments and gold coloured metal details and glass barriers, which all put together looks and feels really good, great design. The hotel room was indeed small and with just enough space for the big and comfortable bed, it was supposed to be a single room and a single bed, but it was actually rather big and could easily have slept two people in my opinion. The bathroom was very modern and stylish too, with cool shiny and sparkling multi coloured mini-tiles combined with ordinary big white tiles on the floors and walls in the bathroom and the perfectly big sized shower with glass doors and golden coloured faucet. Immaculate clean and fresh bathroom with a lovely Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender extract scented soap/conditioner, shampoo by the "Ecoestic" brand, which felt very exclusive and left a long lasting very fresh scent. There were large mirrors on parts of the wall which made the whole room feeling much bigger than it actually is, also very good, the "Philips" brand flat screen TV was wall mounted and hidden behind a black fold out black shield door, which felt nice to not have to see the TV all the time. There were multiple cables offering massive (although wired) connectivity with multiple devices, unfortunately no wireless streaming /casting from Your smartphone/Chromecast/AirPlay device, but not a major problem. The WiFi was high-speed, good connectivity without any distortion or issues. As I was in town I stayed at the hotel during a Friday evening/night, there was a special event with a music quiz in the restaurant/bar/pub area, never went, but seems like a pleasant activity. I chose to take the opportunity of 20 % discount coupon and had a meal and a drink in the hotels restaurant and I was very satisfied with that as well. I had the Fish & Chips that was very tasty and a domestic Swedish Beer "Eriksberg" which was a really good dark lager. The restaurant service was very fast and efficient and the staff was very attentive and polite there too, despite there was a big group in the restaurant at the same time eating. In conclusion, the VOX Hotel in Jönköping, is sort of a hidden gem, I was very happily surprised by it, very well taken cared of by all of the very professional and polite and attentive staff, the whole hotel felt very modern, stylish and new and fresh. I definitely got good value for money and the small cellar rooms without any windows is absolutely not an issue, it actually felt very cozy and it was very calm and also felt very safe with the multiple security doors one has to pass with key card before you get to your room, comfortable bed too, as previously mentioned. I can definitely recommend the VOX Hotel in Jönköping and would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a very good visit and keep up the good work.

Fantastic, centrally located hotel with excellent service! Travelled with my twins (18 year olds) who just thought the Vox was the coolest place ever - gym with lakeview, great, super fresh breakfast and lounge atmosphere throughout the hotel. We had to two rooms and stayed four nights. The service is very attentive, professional and friendly. It’s the second time we stay here and we will definitely be back.

Good spot if in the northern parts of Jönköping. Tipping your toes (over the railroad then) in the great sea of Vättern. Modern. Black. Grey. It how it looks. Ordinary and ok check in. Rooms ok, but not top. FINE beds - that must be said. And that's the main thing for an overnight good rest. A bit "sparse" in amenities and standard. But OK. Breakfast modest. Standard. Basic. Nothing more. Price/performance just ok. For a night or two: no problem.

Central location. Perfect experiance and i would recomend this hotel to everyone. The breakfast was exelent and the reception were fantastic. The pubs, resturants, the sea, everythiung is in a prefect location. No need to think. Just book.

We were lucky enough to stay in this hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly when we arrived, and gave wonderful positive vibes. When we came to our room we were flabbergasted! Än amazing view looking out over the beautiful water of lake Vättern. The room itself contained everything we could have wished for. The only downside to this suite, was that we didn't want to leave it. The bed was amazingly soft and so comfortable! Very few hotel can accommodate people like us, that prefer a soft and comfortable bed. But Vox truly did. Great big bathroom, with both a bathtub and a huge shower. Yes. The room is a bit pricey. But if you have that budget for a hotel suite. This is the only place to stay when you are in Jönköping. At earlier visits we have stayed in other rooms in Vox. These rooms are equally spacious and many of them has the same amazing view. Be sure to ask for a room with a view over lake Vättern. Allright. Now you have spent a great deal of time reading this review. My advice for you is to book a room at Vox, and stop thinking about other hotels.
