Icehotel first founded in 1989, a one-of-a-kind creation, which has now evolved into a magical hotel made entirely with snow and ice from the Torne River. It has also resulted in Sweden’s most unique and probably also largest private ice exhibition. The Icehotel is reborn in a new guise every year, carefully hand-chiseled by around 40 artists from around the world. Thanks to Icehotel 365, you can now spend the night surrounded by ice art all the year round.
Ice from the Torne River and art suites
For around five months of the year, guests can come from all over the world to experience the incredible works of art made from ice before they melt into the nearby Torne River and the circle is completed - the water returns to the river. In addition to about twenty standard category ice rooms, we also offer fifteen unique art suites at the winter hotel, all specially designed and handmade by artists from all over the globe.
Icehotel 365 - ice experiences all the year round
Icehotel 365 was completed in 2016, thereby becoming the first hotel in the world to offer ice experiences all the year round. This specially designed location stretches over 2,100 square metres with 18 art and deluxe suites, an ice bar and an events area with an art gallery. There are also about 800 square metres of solar panels that help keep everything at the hotel running smoothly! Walls, floors and ceilings are covered in snow and ice, and the temperature is maintained at a steady minus 5 degrees Celsius all year round. The unique interiors are handmade by artists from all over the globe. The suites are an art exhibition during the day and then transform into accommodation during the night. If you choose to spend the night on the ice or in our traditional, warm accommdation, entry to the art exhibition is included in your room rate. Visitors coming for the day are welcome to purchase tickets in our shop. Icehotel 365 also has a magnificent icebar serving a variety of beverages "on the rocks" and champagne in ice glasses!

There are buses running from the central station to the ice hotel (30 minutes).
Warm rooms and cottages
Those of you more inclined to feel the cold can look forward to wonderfully cosy accommodation here at the Icehotel. There are also plenty of indoor activities for you to enjoy. Choose between traditional hotel rooms and cottages. To make the most out of your stay, you could also choose to spend one night among the ice art for a truly memorable experience!
Unique wedding location
Our ceremony hall is located at the winter hotel. Although it melts back into the river when spring arrives, the memories of the love it celebrated remain! It is reborn in a new guise every winter, hand-sculpted by skilled artists, to provide the most unique wedding venue imaginable. The space is made entirely from snow and ice and can accommodate between 35-40 guests. This is also an ideal place for people to renew their vows or hold a beautiful blessing ceremony. The hand-chiselled art suites or the magical pillar hall provide further options to celebrate a special occasion, as does the ice exhibition that is open all the year round at 365 allowing for summer weddings too!
