Clarion Hotel® Sign

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past two years. I love the design of the building, and the reception offers a very scandi-minimalistic design. The service is usually friendly, but in a cold way (as usual in Scandinavia). For me, there are three highlights: 1. Location. the hotel’s location allows you to easily reach any part of central Stockholm. Stockholm C is also just a 5 minutes walk, great to catch early trains. 2. The beds are BOUNCY. No, seriously. I travel a lot for work, and spend at least 50 nights per year traveling, and these beds are special. While they serve their function for sleeping, their highlight for me is jumping on them; it is almost impossible to resist. And their structure seems to be sturdy enough to resist bedflips, or even seat drops (tried it all myself!). If you stay here, don’t miss the chance to test them out. Your inner child will be grateful. 3. The breakfast. Oh God, what a fest. Their spread is so huge that you will feel tempted to overeat every morning. They offer fresh omelettes, fresh waffles and, the best part, Gravad Lax (Graved Salmon, with Dill). Among the best available in Stockholm. In general, if you’re in the area of Stockholm, I recommend you staying here. No doubt you’ll enjoy it!

Really nice hotel. Very close to the station. Literally a minute walk from the platform and you are at the hotel. The breakfast was very good. You had your usual sausages, eggs, bacon, croissants, etc. You also had Pancakes which were yummy.

Friendly staff at check-in. Exceptionally unfriendly night personnel. Mediocre breakfast. There are good hotels in Stockholm, good alternatives, with good atmosphere and good breakfast, friendly staff etc. To be a bit brutal: there is absolutely no good reason to stay at Sign.

This would easily be a 5 star stay, if it weren't for the standard Swedish hotel plague - the complete lack of AC. The rooms are equipped with it, but the lowest setting is 19 degrees, and despite leaving it on for almost 24 hours at max speed, the room temperature never dropped below 23 degrees. This made sleeping more of a pain then a pleasure. Despite that, the hotel offers quite a nice experience. It's always wierd staying at a hotel in your home town, but business does that for you sometimes. And the conference rooms were great, as were the restaurant and the bar!

Four star hotel? Absolutely awful bed and pillow to sleep. Safety and proper refrigerator not included. (Refrigerator was warm and had no thermostat.) Wall-to-wall carpet is allergenic – it’s not a healthy choice for anyone. Shower door was busted and didn’t stay closed but opened in the closet why you hit yourself to it. Door had to be jammed during shower. Toilet seat didn’t have slow-close feature. Not any kind of reading lights in the bed and room temperature was not controllable. There were some lights broken. Night light was missing from the bathroom. Our room windows were facing coutyard so other room windows and balconies were visible from our room window which prevent keeping the curtains open and having natural light. We have had much better standard rooms in two star hotels (not any of the faults mentioned above) and it would be expected that the room is checked to be in order before customers arrive. In addition we hoped for a room located in upper floors and that was not considered. When I first looked from the app (as I am regual customer is Clarion hotels), our room was in 5th floor but it was changed to 2nd floor in check-in. Terrible service! Hotel was well situated near Arlanda Express station but luckily so are other hotels as well...next time we will choose to be in one of those other hotels.
