Professional staff, good food & location are some great features, breakfast was included in the hotel tariff and worthwhile with variety and catered to different diets. Located opposite function centre and next to a big shopping centre - very central. The' lazy' Sunday was a bonus - you could check out much later, I think at 6.00pm! Reception staff were very obliging. Good for business or leisure.

This place is very centrally located and there's a public parking garage nearby (90 SEK/9 Euro per 24 hours), bus station is right in front of the hotel. Our room/bathroom was modern, very clean and you had not much, but enough space. The only thing that bothered me was that you can't open the window to get some fresh air...there's no air conditioning either, only air ventilation. Staff was friendly and helpful and the included breakfast buffet was tasty and of a broad variety.

No cleaning during a 6-night stay and poor service

I stayed at Comfort Hotel Winn for almost a week. Overall I was extremely disappointed with my stay. We were two people sharing a double room and it was not cleaned at all during our stay. After just a day our room had turned into a complete mess and our bed sheets started to fall off. The hotel had signs saying that they only cleaned the hotel room once every four days. However, after 6 days our hotel room had not been cleaned a single time. During checkout I asked the staff about this and they said they do not clean the rooms due to "covid-19". They clearly withheld this information from us both when booking the hotel and even during our stay. The pandemic is a very lame excuse and it was clear that the hotel's only aim was to save money. We did many outings and at the end of our stay there was actual soil on our bathroom floor which was absolutely disgusting. It was also during the pollen season and the lack of cleaning worsened my allergies significantly. There was even hair on the bathroom floor when we first arrived to our hotel room, suggesting it had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. We had to run down to the reception a number of times and ask for basic amenities such as toilet paper and towels. On several occasions the staff was busy talking on the phone and we had to wait for 10 min. We finally gave up and saw the cleaner in the corridor with a trolly carrying toilet paper. We kindly asked him if we could take a toilet paper roll but he said no! After a few days our trash started to smell so we were forced to take out our own trash by ourselves on a number of occasions. We had to ask the reception for new plastic bags and fix everything by ourselves! Something else that annoyed me was the lack of essential items in the hotel room. It usually doens't bother me at hotels, but it was obvious that the hotel was just trying to cut down on costs. For instance, there was no coffee, tea, paper, pen or safe. They sold tea bags in the reception for 20 SEK, which is the cost of an entire package of 20 tea bags at the local supermarket! The breakfast was extremely basic and closed very early on weekdays. There were signs about saving food everywhere. Again, it felt like the hotel manager was just trying to save money. It was very warm in the hotel room. There was a thermostat but it clearly did not work. We asked the reception to help us but just told us to be "patient" and wait an hour. 6 days later the room was still uncomfortably warm and we struggled to sleep during each night. It was very difficult to turn the TV on as there were constant technological problems. The entire stay felt very cheap. We paid around 5000 SEK for 6 nights at the hotel but there was absolutely zero cleaning or service. We essentially just paid for a bed to sleep on so we might as well have stayed at a hostel/motel. The interior design was awful with contrasting orange and purple colours. The exterior design was equally awful and completely ruined the charm of the old Umeå city centre that is mainly composed of small wooden pastel houses. The whole hotel was filled with propaganda about saving the environment (AKA cutting down on the hotel's costs). I definitely believe in protecting the environment but the hotel clearly had a personal agenda with all the posters. This is possibly the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my entire life! I believe any hotel is better than this and I will definitely not be returning. If the hotel does not offer regular cleaning then they should not charge the same amount of money as similar hotels in Umeå.

Very fast and easy checkin. Love the nordic choice app, which makes it possible to pay in the app. Great location- central and close to everything. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. As a non-pork eater I do love more chicken option in the breakfast. Ive stayed at several comfort hotels in Scandinavia, so kind of tired eating either egg or cheese. I do love something else. The room was clean and nice. Comfortable beds. As always, comfort should have balsam in the toilet as well. Would have made life easier.
