Clarion Collection® Hotel Fregatten

the hotel room room was very worn. it was impossible to sleep because pillows were sunken and should have been replaced long ago. the price does not correspond to the quality of the hotel. unfortunately cannot recommend the hotel Fregatten

Nice half board hotel near the sea, a stones trow away from the railway station. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice breakfast, nice «fika» (a typical Swedish tradition) in the afternoon and nice dinner. I have stayed at several Clarion Collection hotels in the Nordics and the quality of food at dinner was better then some others Clarion Collection hotels we had strayed at. (Clarion Collection is always half board) Nice room with comfy beds. The Strawberry chain (which Clarion is a part of) no longer preform room cleaning for guest staying more then one night something I think is perfectly fine.

I have been staying at this hotel since 2010, always very satisfied, polite staff, great location! A varied breakfast, the highlight of the dinner is the chef's fantasy salad, very tasty! After the gym, you can visit the sauna.

We were on a road trip visiting the west coast of Sweden and decided to try this hotel. We needed two rooms as we are five. We also had our dog with us. The hotel offers certain room where you can bring your dog, which we were happy to use. The rooms were abit outdated and warm in the summer heat. As there was no a/c, we needed to sleep with windows open. The proximity to the railway station was not a problem but could be heard. The hotel offers complimentary dinner service, which was nice. We could use the outdoor seating to have dinner with our dog nicely sleeping under the table. Breakfast was nice. All in all a nice establishment, centrally located in Varberg.

Well firstly a hotel is about sleeping and we had a good night's sleep. That said this was the first hotel visit we made as a family of four. The room that was a family room had a bed and bed sofa and considering the price the room was very good. The only downside was that the bathroom floor and especially the shower was very slippery. I spoke to a representative of the hotel and he said that it would be fixed so I hope it will. This hotel had an inclusive buffet when sleeping there and that is always nice. Considering the dish of the day that was not really for small children some consideration to this would have been appreciated but we never got any service regarding that issue and a children's dish would have been appreciated considering that a parents day is basically ruined if the children can't get something to eat..we solved it with bread and butter. The best part of this hotel must anyway be the breakfast, they have got a really good breakfast buffet that included just about everything you could want for breakfast. They even had some things that weren't breakfast that was perfect for the small ones so that was much appreciated. As I told the hotel having some meatballs or pancakes would have been perfect for an evening meal for the small ones. All consideration taken fought off I would think that any family of four would get a good stay here and the only set back would be the evening meal for children (toddlers) and the slippery floor in the shower.
