10-16 June 2024

From 10-16 June, it’s time to GO WEST! West Pride is back with a bang, so come and join us here on Sweden’s beautiful west coast for a big celebration! West Pride in Gothenburg is the second-largest Pride festival in the country, bringing together tens of thousands of people in the city centre to celebrate love and the right to be whoever you are! There should be room for all – not just at Strawberry, but also in society at large! Strawberry fully supports the Pride message, and has been a proud sponsor of the movement across the Nordics for many years.

We encourage everyone to join in the festivities during Pride Week, while also showing support throughout the rest of the year. Party, fun, glitter and rainbows are a fabulous way to celebrate just how far we’ve come, but in order to reach the goal of universal inclusion, acceptance and equal rights for all, we have to carry on working to promote understanding. Our Pride flags are always held high in support of this important movement.

What's happening during West Pride 2024?

Pride Park – the heart of the festival

West Pride’s festival area, the Pride Park, is being hosted by Trädgårdsföreningen (Garden Society of Gothenburg), one of the city’s largest and most beautiful parks. It will all be happening here – concerts, culture school, writing courses, performance arts, drag shows and plenty of other events with a focus on queer culture. The Pride Park will be officially opened on 13 June 2024 between 7pm – 7.30pm on the big stage. Entry is free of charge and everyone is welcome!

Pride Parade – the highlight of West Pride

The Pride Parade will be held on Saturday 15 June 2024, kicking off with a party at 12 noon in the Gustav Adolfs Torg square for all those taking part. The parade itself will begin at 1pm, moving 3 kilometres through the city centre before ending in the Pride Park at Trädgårdsföreningen, where the festivities will culminate in the big end party! Join the parade or just watch on as the colourful sea of people fills the streets of Gothenburg! One thing is certain – you’re in for some serious fun!

Invite old friends, new friends, soon-to-be friends, acquaintances and family members to join you in experiencing this fabulous event – see you on 15 June!

Pride House – listen & learn

The Pride House at the Stadsbiblioteket library will open at 12.30pm on 10 June 2024, with a variety of speeches and musical performances to officially kick off West Pride 2024! There will be debates, seminars, workshops and more held every day all throughout the week at Pride House. Make sure to check out daily musical performances by Motion Sickness, and join panel discussions, debates and workshops to find out more about the history of Pride, queer culture and current political debates. Pride House has free entry, and is open to both adults and children.

"After Pride" at Clarion Hotel® Post

After the Pride Parade, head straight to Clarion Hotel® Post for an epic after-party right in the heart of the city just across the river from the Pride Park. Party-goers can look forward to special cocktails and fab DJs on our iconic outdoor terrace! Find out more about the event on Facebook
